Ask me whatever you want. I started this as a winter project since I cant be doing things outside in the cold.
I have done tons of research on jeep forums, truck forums, ls1 forums, and more. I followed up on alot of other swaps people have done and wanted to make mine look more like it come from the factory than just a swap. I have alot of hours in this swap so far to make the powerplant looks like its at home under the Jeeps hood.
The engine and tranny is a 6.0L/4L65E combo out of a 2006 GMC V-Max. The swap is not very difficult if you have the right tools. The advance adapters motor mounts weld to the frame after you remove the original mounts. I had to notch the passenger side frame a bit to make room for the a/c compressor. If you dont want a/c, you will not have to do this.
Also you will need a transfer case adapter. I got mine from advance too and it comes with the vss sensor for a speed signal. The tranny mount came from advance as well, but make sure you get the powerglide mount. Its a more heavy duty mount.
I will be using the stock gear selector, so I was able to find a cable kit that works great and the gating is right on.
Ill get some pics of the underside later today for you.
That looks really clean and good in there. Hope you do a full write up with pics when done. I don't have any specific questions just would like to see it from start to finish. Pics can be worth a thousand words.
