Unwrecking a Rubicon

Hey everyone, I thought I would share one of my current Jeep projects with you all! I am currently building a 1952 Willys and "Un-Wrecking" a 2003 Rubicon.

I picked up the Rubicon on Sunday February 7,2010 from a man in southern Maine who had purchased it from an insurance auction in New Hampshire. When I got it the front sheet metal had been removed. Here are the pictures that were emailed to me before I went and picked up the jeep:

Here are some pictures of what I have done so far with it:

When I first brought it home, set the hood on to keep engine protected

after pushing it into my body shop

front view

Corner is crushed a little, may just pull it some more and put poison spyder crusher corners on it.

Pass side is clean other than one little bend at front of tub where fender mounts

pass fender from wreck

drivers fender from wreck

cowl from wreck

junkyard fenders and grill installed

another view

new cowl panel and one new hinge

I prefer not to discuss what I paid since I intend to sell it when I am done building it

That is too bad to see a wrecked Jeep, but great to see that it's getting another life.

Mind sharing what the repair list is (besides body)? I have a body shop in my family and it's always fun to see a project like this.

Please tell me you plan to disclose it's history to the person that buys the Jeep.

Nice work BTW.

Of course I will disclose the history, the jeep also has a branded title so it would be impossible not to.

The jeep needs:
airbags and controller
windshield
doors
windows for soft top
rear seat
tail lights (broke them on ride home with trailer ramps!)
front bumper
Hood
shocks
tie rod
hood latches
pass side headlamp assembly
pass side turn signal assembly
matching set of flares

Jeep needed:
swaybar cover
both fenders
grill assembly
cowl cover
pass side hood hinge
Fuel pump assembly
Radiator
carpet
glove box door
coolant overflow bottle
fan shroud

I think that covers all of it...

You said you need matching set of flares, do you mean all 6 piece fender flare set? If so, I have a set I took off mine when I put my extended ones on.

yeah, with the Rubicon rock rails I only need 4 pieces, but I am not fussy. Any set of matching flares to put this thing on the road would be fine if they are cheap!

Since it is a Rubicon don't you want to put Rubicon flares on it? They are a little wider than the standard flares.
