Unlimited 04 did you notice in your LJ sat higher in the front with the 934 springs as opposed to the 933's? I'm looking to see if the 933's sit a bit lower than the 934's without any additional weight on the front end.

Sold my Hobart Handler 140 and got a Millermatic 211 Autoset (runs 110V & 220V). It hurts the wallet, but will pay for itself quickly

Put it to good use on the trailer:







The tub is taking shape...next up is framing the tailgate, finish welding, and add sheet metal.

you'll really like that 211, i love mine. you'd be impressed with what it can do when you're burning with gas. these are my dicking around welds on 3/16ths plate before i left for the AF

no issues yet. maybe because i have the bumpstops set before the shocks bottom out. the "extensions" are just steel spacers I bought from the local hardware store. no drilling involved, the front mounts do not use weld-nuts. the bolt and mount is basically in perfect tension/compression, there shouldn't be much of a side load at all....but if bumpstops aren't proper, i could see potential for buckling. i think if it was going to do it again, i'd weld them together with some plate to make it less of a damn finger fumble to install.

I will be removing these soon however. After making bar pin shock mounts for my trailer and seeing some builds on here, I'm going to cut the bar pin mount completely off my front axle, make new ones out of C-channel and weld them about 1" lower than stock. Then I will run N66L shocks, with a compressed length of 15.5"...which normally requires 2" bumpstop extensions...but using my current 1-3/8" bumpstop extensions. basically running 4" lift shocks on 2.5" of lift. Lots more down travel, lots more flex. Hopefully I'll also do the rear lower mount outboard I've been meaning to get to for over a year too...

Trailer updates:

Sheet metal is almost done. Tub can be separated from the frame, and bolts in place with button head screws (15 of them ).

CJ tailgate is mounted & cables done....that was an ordeal. Busted off a tap and had to cut the whole mount off and make a new one, then drill & tap again. .

Also, was driving highway for an hour in 97F heat, and A/C is still causing engine to heat up too much. IAT's in the 160F-190F range, tranny temps 180-200F range, 220F coolant temps and climbing w/ A/C, but 204F w/o A/C. I've had these issues almost since new, but because I only use A/C like two weeks a year before the hard top comes off, I've just been dealing with it for years. I've discussed the whole overheating issue extensively in the Explorer fan thread...main link here. The difference this time was a CEL tripped for P0432 (main cat), dash buzzers going and all. Engine compartment was very very hot, and power/acceleration sucked. Appears the mini-cats have finally died....will be making a custom exhaust setup from manifold back to muffler to relocate the cats out of the engine compartment...my theory is this may reduce underhood temps, IAT's & tranny temps. Parts are already on order. May finally work up the courage to cut holes in the hood for the junkyard Grand Prix hood vents I've had for almost 2 years....here's the Oman4x4 hood vent write up reference.
