Unlimited hard top w/sliding side windows?

Ok, probably a rookie question, BUT does anyone make a hard top for an Unlimited with sliding rear windows? My dog likes the wind in his hair and I prefer him in the back.

I know the soft top is always an option (or no top) but I like the option with a hard top if available. Thanks.

I've never seen, nor heard of one, but that's a brilliant idea!

Seems so obvious...

there must be a reason why it hasn't been developed. Maybe shape of window? If so, change the shape!

Sounds like a fab project... something along the lines of the old 2-door 4Runner tops...

What I'm getting ready to start designing is a hardtop that acts like a soft top. So you can take the back side "panels" out (could even use the same type of latches like the header bar) and then have the back window open like usual then when open it can slide up into the top and out of the way.

Also, I know I'm not supposed to give ideas away.

There is already one.

It is made from rallytops.com

Their website does not have a pic, but you can email Jerry@rallytops.com for some pics.

It is about $1700 shipped.

I posted it up here about 2 months ago and was laughed at. . .

Don't see it on rallytops

I'm thinking about side rear windows that slide half way open (like Defender (D-90's) rear side windows). Maybe I just didn't find it yet.

It's basically a matter of economics. The TJ based Unlimited really didn't have a very long run and there just aren't enough of them out there to support the tooling costs. I'm sure eventually we may see some small shops making both hard and soft tops for the Unlimited available at retail, but in the near future the big names will probably not invest more than they already have...

It's not listed on the website. You have to email them and they will email you pics of what they specifically sell for the LJ.
