bowler wildcats (upgraded and superbexpensive land rovers) have failed repeatedly in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge here ... unlimted black hole and its drivers still rule!

Congratulations Gerald and Savvy Off Road (and John Currie and all your other sponsors and partners!)
That was posted on Poison Spyders Facebook Page
"Some interesting developments at the KOH Every Man Challenge race so far. Jim Marsden of Gigglepin 4X4 from Britain came across the finish line first, followed by John Currie and Gerald Lee. Then Marsden DQ'd himself, as his vehicle had a couple of technical violations, making John Currie the winner of the EMC for the second year in a row. "
Sticky Tires and Full Hydro Steering a no-no in EMC and also surprised they even were allowed to start the race! Bad on Ultra4!
Hahaha funny story about Gerald chasing John up the hill on foot. Nice job guys.
Might have been what they had broadcast on the feed online; if I hadn't seen Gerald climb out of the window a few moments earlier, I would have thought there was a little kid running up the hill after John.
But seriously, congrats on the win; looks like you guys did well, per usual.
Regarding the question on passing tech, the pre-race tech exam focuses primarily on safety issues. Post race they impound the winners (or anybody else who gets a red card thrown on them) and do a more thorough exam. Thats where HK DQ'd Gigglepin. Gigglepin will still run tomorrow (they separately got a KOH spot from Dave) so will be interesting.
Wonder if John will drive the LJ tomorrow. Last year he co-drove with Casey instead and so Gerald was in the driver's seat for the big race. I think Casey has a different co-driver this year but not positive.
