I'm lucky enough to know provelogear personally and have yet to meet a more honest guy. I can't believe someone would make such a blatant, unfounded accusation.

hmmmm, you spent $10K for a Rubi with 15K miles. Lift, wheels and tires have to be over $1,000 of that. So, $9K or less for stock? Even with the bad Carfax report, I'll bet you could find a lot of buyers at $13K-$14K. In my area, a Rubi like that would go for $18K minimum (from a private buyer). Is it the work worth $4k-$5K to do the restore and sell them? I know that if I find myself in the market again, I'm looking you up to see if you want to make a little money.

it was a salvaged unlimited...he put the rubicon axles on there i believe he replaced the stock d30, stock cracked TC, and replaced the hood, he said he already had the stuff, just probably needed to get the tires and wheels and lift....you should read the thread before posting replies.

That or I could just give you the opportunity to be an a$$.

What rant? Actually, you need to calm down. I'm very impressed with the work that he did and when I'm in the market again, I will seriously contact him to see if he will do a rebuild of a close to new salvaged Jeep. If I can save $5K and he can make some coin, we both win.

How is giving me crap when I'm truly impressed with the work that the man did being helpful? I'd say offering to buy a Jeep from the OP is the highest compliment that I could pay the man.

the amount of money you'll save by getting a salvaged jeep will probably pay for the 5000 mile round trip you'll have to make to go get it. it would probably be considerably cheaper to start your own salvage project or look for someone closer to do the work

I'm from SoCal. I'm out there once a year to visit my parents, so the money for the trip is already being spent. Buying it would give me the chance to hit some of my old wheelin runs, so that just adds to the enjoyment of my vacation.
