I got to take those steps off and put some rockers on! I ordered some sniperfab corners ($103.) So we can play a little bit. Mostly, we can tow it behind the motorhome whe we travel.
do you have the 6-speed in there now? was it not damaged in the accident that caused the t-case to crack? how do you not like the 6-speed? I've driven both (42RLE and 6-speed) and I own an auto...I much prefer the 6-speed. What are you doing with that trans when you swap

Yes, there is a 6 speed in it now. With 4.88s 1st gear is not necessary. I really do like the smooth shifting of the 6 speed and the ratios are close so you are in the power band most of the time. The real problem is the wife doesn't drive stick or the motorhome. This creates a dilema for me.

Only the transfer case took a beating. Half of it fell out when I removed the rear drive shaft. Scared the heck out of me!

The rest of the drive train was fine. The front driver LC bracket was all bent up but I repalce the the D30 with a D44 so it wasn't an issue.

I will be selling the 6 speed after the swap. My son has his eye on this one. We built his 03 auto but he is now hinting he like the manual. I might not have to do the swap after all.

I was going to ask, what is the reason for the build? So you do plan on keeping it? Just because salvage vehicles are so damn impossible to re-sell for anything..

Looks great, good fast work, I am hoping to visit Davey's Jeeps sometime in the future, I plan on doing something very similar to this.

I was going to give my son a Jeep for his first car so we built the 03. Then I decided I wanted one and I really wanted an LJ. I'm keeping the TJ 03 and TJ 06. I'm about to install Poly 3/4 link stretch suspension so I'll be busy for a while. Now my son likes the LJ more than the TJ!

Yes, salvage vehicle don't get much but if you document them and find the right buyer you can make some change. But, we'll use it so it really doesn't matter. I have 10K into the 2006 LJ with 15K miles. So, I really don't care if we bash it up or it gets stolen. We spend time in the desert and it won't bother me at all when it gets full of dirt and srcapped up.

Hey Tom!

Hope things are well. I'm pretty much done resurrecting Jeeps until one of these gets stolen or bashed up beyond repair (which is pretty hard to do.)

Had to yank the front diff out as the pinion bearing is really sloppy and the seals are leaking like crazy.

I wish I new! I think he was trying to show how I sold three sets of axles. I have actually sold more! Two of the sets are out of my current Jeeps as I'm building or built new axles.

I just wonder where this yahoo gets off. Thanks!
