I just ordered the No Body Lift skid because I'm a whiner with vibes, and do not currently have a SYE. I have a few thoughts.
1. This thing is a brick *hithouse. I have no hesitations regarding strength or durability of this skid plate. Quality also seems top notch. It's also lighter than I was expecting.
2. Shipping to Canada was quick enough and reasonably priced.
Anyone got aluminum painting tips? I would like flat black rattlecan.

I installed both without a body lift. I do have a Brown Dog 1" MML which I think made this possible.
Couple of notes:
I loosened the nut on the TC shifter lever so it could slide freely.
I completely removed the factory transmission mount. I installed the Lopro mount in its place. This is not what the instructions say to do. I needed to use two small washers on each bolt so that the lopro mount would clear the transmission housing bolts. Once installed, I put the lower half on the lopro mount and removed the shims that were sent for the 97 model.
I then jacked up the skid and got everything lined up at the frame. I tightened the 6 frame bolts and re-tightened the TC nut. Since I did this a bit differently, the skid to lopro mount holes no longer lined up. The cross beam actually sits behind the lopro mount, so as of now the mount is not bolted to the skid. I am going to drill four holes for the lopro mounting bolts and get flush mounting bolts since they are not going to be in the cross beam.
Next, I adjusted my pinion angles.
Finally, i had to adjust my fan shroud back down to the stock location. I had raised it with the MML. The tummy tuck brought the TC and transmission up enough that with the MML the fan shroud was lined back up like stock.
The tummy tuck looks great and I cannot wait to wheel with it. The transmission is noticeably louder in the cabin, no big deal for me.
In short, I did not have to beat on the tub at all to get everything to fit with the ultra-high clearance skid and lopro mount with NO body lift.
good times!!

So you didn't use the factory adapter bracket at all? Did you bolt the lopro mount directly to the transmission? If so, how did you attach the catalytic converter?
Post up some pictures when you get the chance.
Thanks,

Good to hear it made it there safely. That's the first time I've shipped a skid plate USPS. Was that a cheaper method on your end than shipping via UPS?

Shipping was no problem, and just a little more expensive than UPS. With UPS though, you definitely have to pay border brokerage (about $50), with USPS maybe you have to. It was $44 in my case - I argued that a product of North America should be duty exempt, but apparently I'm not a customs official.
The idea of little to no duty appealed to me, with UPS to Canada it's a sure thing. In fact, there has been talk a number of times about a class action lawsuit against UPS Canada for the excessive border fees.
Anyway, I will post some pics during the install in case anyone wants to see the no-body-lift-needed skid going on, as well as some measurements of clearance gained, weight, etc. Most of what I saw here were the ultra high clearance ones.

I'll be ordering the high clearance steel skid and lopro mount hopefully tomorrow. Can't wait to finally not get hung up on the stock shovel.

Looking forward to the order!
You can still save 15% if you buy the TT and Engine Skid together. The coupon code for the aluminum combo is "alumskidplatecombo". Use the code "steelskidplatecombo" to save 15% on the combined purchase of the carbon steel TT and Engine Skid. These code will be discontinued this Saturday night.
Thanks,

Matt, don't ever ship overseas via UPS or FedEx. They charge you to ship to the country ONLY, after that the receiver has to pay a surcharge to get the item. If they don't pay UPS and FedEX will charge the shippers account. Not fun, I had to deal with that several times on shipments I made to Canada. I ate the shipping big time.
Ship overseas with USPS only and all will be golden (and cheaper too).

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep that in mind.
I ship to Canada via USP freight. I've never had an issue with that service.

Well, after following this thread for a while, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a 1/4" steel kit for engine/xfer case skids. Problem was that the process that I followed didn't allow for me to put in the discount code(s). Musta been my fat fingers :^P
I'll call the vendor (Matt) later to see if the discount can be applied retroactively, and to chat about an e-mail feature on the site that needs some tech help.

I saw your order. I can issue a partial refund for the 15% discount after the credit card batch runs sometime tomorrow. Please let me know if it doesn't show up on your statement.
Thanks,

^ I bet you can get it to fit just right without the low pro mount. I know there is different space between my 97 and your 06 but on my 97 I have still 3in to my tub from the top of the TC.

Hi Matt,
Looking at my email invoice , I just realized I ordered the wrong thickness skid plate. DANG IT!!! I wanted the 1/4 tranny skid. Can you charge me the difference and ship me the 1/4 ultra high clearance skid instead?
Sorry for the trouble. I can call you with my card info if you don't have it. Hopfully you can change my order before it ships. I emailed you a duplicate message with my order number and invoice.
Thanks
