UCF Belly Pan Questions

I plan on ordering a 1/4 in UCF transfer case skid, Rubi pump mount and a lo pro tranny mount. I already have a 1 1/4 BL, MML and Clayton adjustable control arms with 4 inches of lift. I want to know if I can get away with using my stock driveshaft for a couple weeks. And what else am I`m gonna have to deal with. This is going on a 05 Rubicon with a 6 spd manual trans.

Which UCF skid?

Yes or no. Different Jeeps are... different. You may be able to get away without a CV shaft, you may not. If you have vibes drop the skid down until you can afford the DS and rotate the pinion back. I'd pull the trigger on the DS now but thats just me.

4"s of lift is really pushing it with a belly up. I would Probablywait until I had a ds in hand. Maybe someone here has done it though... Good luck with it man!

Thats a good point, I just assumed it is an uhc skid.

You need a new driveshaft already with 4" of lift. A couple more inches from a TT and keeping that shaft not a good idea. If you want to do it pull rear driveshaft and drive in front wheel drive till able to do right.

Which height skid are you going with? I am going to bet that with pretty much any of the options the angle will be too much for the stocker. I would plan on getting a new shifter cable for the transfer case.

Yeah, there is no way the factory DS will work. It may spin the rears until the axle moves, then it's gonna fall out.

How can the driveshaft fall out if its bolted to the transfer case? I have a Rubicon. My stock belly pan is pushed so far up that I dont think the Under Cover Fab skid plate is much higher and wouldnt change my driveshaft angle that much esspecially with the lo pro mount. As far as shifter cable, I have a 6 spd manual trans.

Now ****in way it would work, it's bound up at ride height with a lo pro, uhc skid, 3" springs, and the pinion tilted up for a cv shaft.

Thanks, I do see what your talking about. I thought the Lo Pro mount would drop the t-case in the belly pan more and help that.

I wasn't talking about the transmission. You are going to need to address the transfer case shifting as the stock linkage doesn't work to well when moved around.

Dam, all this is starting to add up! Maybe I should get the driveshaft 1st.

I recently did the Original Extra Clearance skid (w/Lo-Pro trans mount and MML) from UCF on my "no-lift" TJ Rubicon. And I still got vibes. Adjustable control arms helped quite a bit in making things parallel but still couldn't stop the vibes.

With 4" of lift on a TJ (LJs got more driveshaft to work with) there's no way you're gonna make a TT work with out a CV (DC) drive shaft. For a temporary fix go front wheel drive, or some big *** spacers to lower the transfer back down.

Yes, it does. I tried and failed, but I knew I may have to dig a little deeper in my pocket from the start. At least the Tom Wood driveshaft was only $305 (for the Rubicon).
