u joints front drive shaft

so i changed out the ujoints in the front ds and they still are making the sparrow noise. what would cuase this? thanks

the angry sparrow noise comes from the cv ball on the t case end of the front driveshaft. you should pack it with grease when you replace the u-joints. I drilled and tapped mine for a grease fitting so now when the bird sings,I can just shoot in some lube

no i didnt replace that. whats the cv ball look like? is that the t lookin thing that takes a little pressure to push down when the 2nd u joint (closest to the t case)

also when i was buying u joints, i bought the u joints for non command trac (thinking the jeep doesnt have it) they didnt fit. the ones for command trac did fit. am i going crazy or do the tj's have command trac?

The auto parts stores carry a ball seat kit, but it's a lot easier to buy that whole centering piece. I think the price difference was about $7. Save yourself the headache and get the centering piece, rather than the ball kit.

If you don't want to tap it for a grease fitting, you can buy a needle tip for your grease gun to grease it. It's already set up for that.
