U-Joint Part Number
I am sorry for making this post but my thread has died about the Ford Explorer drive shaft.
I picked up the driveshaft this weekend from Pull-A-Part. It cost me 13 dollars. We had to remove the front u-joint to get it out because we didn't have the torque bits with us. So, the total cost is going to be 13 for the shaft, 60 to get it cut to length and balanced, plus 20 for a new u-joint, luckily all the other u-joints are in really good shape. So all together it will cost me right under 100 bucks for my CV driveshaft. Does anyone know the part number for the u-joint I will need to get, this is the u-joint that conects the yoke on the JB conversion Standard SYE and the CV driveshaft? I believe that Napa sells the Spicer u-joints but I am not sure which one to get. If anyone knows the P/N I would greatly appreciate the help on this.

If it fits the standard TJ axle and transfer case u-joint yokes, it's a 1310 series u-joint. The Spicer p/n for the their latest tripled-sealed 1310 series u-joint is 5-785x which is what I upgraded all of my driveshaft u-joints to a couple years ago.

I did Google search to get some company out of Indiana. I'll try to find it, but I was a little surprised not to find it at a better known site for as good a price or cheaper...

Wherever you are having it cut and balanced will most likely carry the Spicer joints. Most autoparts do not carry spicer u-joints.

My one transaction with them was a good one. Promptly shipped and arrived in good condition.
