two stupid questions

1. i bought a hardtop seal off of jeepsareus.com but it didn't come with adhesive. what should i use?

2. if im running no windows in the rear, but i still have the upper doors on with the windows up, is it safe?(exhaust wise) i ask this because i know it isnt safe to have the back window out and the other 4 in cuz of the fumes. i know it sounds stupid, but please answer seriously.

I run with just my rear window off when I have a bike in the back of my jeep and it hasn't killed me. I would presume that if you stay stationary for long periods of time, such as stop and go traffic, that you may run into a prob.

Weatherstrip adhesive from your local parts store.
Never run with the back window open and the front windows shut, you can draw exhaust into the cabin, I believe it's even mentioned in the manual.

[EDIT] Oops, you said no windowS, as in the top up, the rear and sides removed? I think that would be fine.

use weatherstrip with adhesive from Home Depot for about 1/3 the price.

As well as 1/3 the manufacturing specifications and 1/6 the service.

You'll be fine with all the rear windows out and your doors on. Don't run with just the rear window out as mentioned - and actually sitting still you'd be fine (depending on the wind I guess) but when you're driving it will suck the exhaust into the vehicle. I rented an SUV once with a power rear window and about 2 seconds after I rolled that rear window down going down the highway I could smell the exhaust - lesson learned!

drove mine without the rear window yesterday.(broke window saturday)it sucked all the exhaust fumes in the cab!!roll down windows and turn on fan if you have to. as for adhesive, i was able to stick a piece back on with "gorilla glue".
by the way, don,t break your liftgate glass---$666 to fix it this morning--ouch!

please educate me. what are the specs? what exactly does "1/6 the service" mean for this application? please be specific.

i have been using the home improvement grade for 6 years and it gives a great seal and cushion.

to me, it looks and feels exactly like the stuff at the auto parts store.

I think he was refering to the "help" you get at home depot when you go there.

Make sure the seal you bought doesn't already have a peel and stick type adhesive.

So is that what you ended up finding? Did it have that peel & stick backing?
