Turn signal and Emerg flashers. . .Now what

Ok so my 2001, 4.0L Auto TJ was working fine (fine-ish) three days ago. Then my turn signals and emergency flashers stopped working. No clicking, no lights blinking.
Fuse behind the glove box is good, all of the bulbs look good, I just replaced the combo flasher unit (frome the dealership $36.00). Is the four-way switch the next suspect? I initially ruled it out because the brights/dim switch and the dome light piece of the switch works fine.

Is there anything else I can try to isolate the fault to the 4-way switch on the steering wheel column?

Thanks

1st try working the flasher switch on & off a bunch of times. Often the contacts get dirty from non-use. For the record you have 2 fuses, #13 that you checked is for the signals, #11 in the PDC in front of the battery for the flashers. Since neither work it's not likely the fuses.

And "7" was the right fuse in the PDC and it looks good. I changed out the MFS on the column and still not working. I noticed that the male connector on both the turn signal /headlights side and the wiper side of the switch both looked cracked and burnt? Any idea where I can locate replacement male plugs? I've checked Morris and autozone.

So now the dealer is $70 bucks richer. And for $70.00 I got a plastic bag full of parts that will allow me to put the plug together myself. . . sigh

Any tips or techniques I should know before I start to put the plug together?

^^right, one wire in the wrong place & you have more problems than you started with.

Once the connector or terminals are damaged there is not any other way to repair it.

OK Thanks for the info. I was assuming I'd cut the the whole bundle and go for it (Using posted wiring diagrams). One wire at a time, got it

OK so new plug is installed. Turn signals and Haz Flshers still not blinking. I did notice last night that when I have the brakelights on and I turn on the turn signal the corresponding brake light goes out. So. . . a short in the wiring??
