Turn the Cruise Control into a Hand Throttle

Just wondering...is there any way to disable the safety on a factory CC to allow you to use it at any speed? If so, with the decel/accel/cancel buttons, you'd pretty much have a hand throttle at your disposal. It would also look a lot cleaner in my already cramped cab.

It's not exactly what you're asking about but it does provide a throttle control function.

Good one..

You would have to modify the computer because CC can not be activated below 35 MPH. In short, no..there is not an easy way to turn CC into a hand throttle.

I added a hand throttle to my TJ with cruise control.

Cost like $30 and took about 30 minutes to install.

WELL Worth it for wheelin' on hills with a stick - when you do not want to roll backwards!

Are you looking to use it as a hand throttle while your 2 feet are trying to operate 3 petals, or do you just want to elevate the rpms while winching and such? I don't think you would be happy with the http://www.kwanms.com/products/twc+/twc+.htm . You would go mad trying to get the rpms up and down quick enough. A hand throttle works darn good and I use it all the time.

That's a good point now that I think about it. The delayed controls for that thing annoy me on the highway. I'd probably end up driving off a trail and into a tree by the time the engine responded to my inputs even if I could make it work.

I'll just go with the regular hand throttle...cheap and easy.
