Tummy Tuck on an LJ ?'s
My '06 LJ currently has a 2" BB w/shocks sitting on 31's. The body is well armored, but the underbelly, not so much, with just a Rokmen steering box skid under there.
I want to get more clearance (and protection) without increasing tire size by going with a TT. I am currently looking at the ROKMEN 03-06 TJ/LJ Up Armor Package 3 <-clicky *Is $1,015 a good price for.... Includes: High Clearance Belly Pan, Engine/Transmission Skid Plate, High Clearance Gas Tank Skid Plate, JKS Body Lift, JKS Motor Mount Lift As I understand it, the TT offers 2.5" extra clearance. **Does it actually raise the trans./t-case 2.5"? .....(Or is the skid thinner so the trans./t-case actually moves less than that?) ***With 2" of BB and the TT (about 4.5" lift all together) will I have vibes to deal with? ........(all Jeeps are different, but, in your experience) ****How much will this sag the stock springs? ..........(Maybe some rubi springs would help this?) *****Any good/poor experiences with Rokmen or their equipment? ******Is there a better deal (price/quality) out there that you would recommend ![]()

1,015 is a good price or all that. Rokmen has very high quality products. I suggest getting that package to armor up your underside. With your extended wheelbase, you will have a harder time getting vibes, but its always possible. You will need upper adj. control arms to adjust your pinion angle (also available by Rokmen) and possibly a new driveshaft, but maybe not because you have an LJ. Either way, its a good choice.

Rokmen is a GREAT company. i called them about some control arms for a custom set up and they (dave, although jeff has too) ended up BSing with me for almost an hour helping me figure stuff out, i have a handfull of their products and it doesnt get any better, as for vibs you should have any problems seeing as how you have the LJ

What about the added weight? How much will it pull me down on the stock springs?

btw, Rubi springs will not help you, you already have Rubicon springs since you have an LJ. you'll be fine. i've been running a heavy armor and bumper setup for over 25k miles with no issues.

its probably a 2 man job over one very long day or a weekend. i had it done at a local 4x4 shop, they billed for like 10 hrs of work and had it for two days, and they have a lift and every tool imaginable. Install included a MML, BL, Kilby Body Clamz, JeepMedic engine & t-case skid, JeepMedic front axle control arms skids and a Kilby gas tank skid.
