Tub Damage

Just finished going through Moab Rim trail... and came out with this http://uva.facebook.com/photo.php?pi...&id=1026810062. Not too bad but had to use the HiLift to get myself un-pinned... I was very pleased. So what would one do next with the tub damage!? Thanks.

Remove or replace the floatie, the spraypaint over the damage with antirust paint (to prevent rust obviosuly) and get a set of bolt on corner guards to cover it up. Since the corner guards are permanet theres no need to worry about repair or getting the paint color perfect. Thats what I did.

Thanks anyone have any good links to the guards besides quadratec? I'll do a search for the Rokmens. Do you think the guards would fit over the bent corner panel?

Here you go:

This is a good example for all those that don't want to drill holes in their Jeep. Simple little holes and $150 will save your Jeep and keep it looking good.

Oh and Dave @ Northridge is a good dude.

Yup. Pull the floaties off the jeep all around. They are useless and if you plan on taking it off road again this will continue to happen. x2 on the armor. They will look good and cover up everything you have going. If you look at your pic where teh 2 pcs on the tub come together. That is where the new corners will stop so you won't see anything after you are done. I think Black armor on the white jeep would look good. Just my 2 cents

BUY IT DONT' BUILD IT!! You will be money and time ahead. (Flip off)

Yup I did pull the floaties cept the rear ones... haha. That corner is pretty bent if you look at it from a rear angle I sure hope the corner guard would fit.

My friend hit the side of his Jeep in that same area with the plow truck. We heated it with a torch and banged it out with a sledge. Some bondo, primer, and spray touch up paint and it doesn't look that bad anymore.

it may be bent a little to much for the corners to fit perfect, if so get a BFH and pound it back until you get a good fit then repaint as you will likely remove paint with the BFH

I have a Jeep.
