Transmission Noise

ok i have a tj from 2000. About a year ago i swamped my wrangler and needed to get a new transmission. I had no issues until about 2 weeks ago. I decided to take my wrangler down a trail and went through some shallow water (about midway up the tires) and hit a few big bumps. Ever since then it has been making a squeaking noise at any speed above 25mph but it seems to stop after i take it on the highway. There have been no performance issues, but i am worried that something could happen. Any help would be appreciated thanks

Check your front drive shaft CV joint ( UP BY THE T-CASE) you could be having the angry sparrows. A quick way to check it is to remove the front DS off of the front pinion axle yoke and bungee it on to the frame. Make sure it's secure well and DO NOT put it into 4wd mode at all. Then drive it and see if the noise is gone. If it's not I would drain the fluid out of tranny and see if you have water intrusion in it. Is this a manuel or auto tranny???
