Transfer Case help

hey forum i was looking to buy a new t case for my 99 wrangler sahara. i know i only have part time 4wd on this t case and i was going to but another at the junk yard for 60 dollars. i was wondering if all np231 are part time like if i pulled one out of a liberty or a XJ i can connect it to the stock linkage and still have a part time t case. or do i need to get a part time only t case. thanks for the help
