Hi, I am getting transfered to the Northen Va area by the first if the Year and was going to install a transmission cooler(06 Auto Unlimited) before the Move, since I will be towing 5x8.5 trailer with my Arctic Cat 4wheeler and a bunch of other Crap on it. I have seen several on the summitt web site but don't know which to choose and was wondering How do you hook them in the the Transmission? I can't find any place that the cooler lines would hook up to.
Any Advice would be Great.
Thanks
Dave

As far as what type of cooler, you cant get any better than the B&M Super Cooler line.

Its very easy to install.
You just have to tap in to the stock tranny cooler return line, run some hoses from there to the auxiliary cooler and back, and then find a place to mount it.
I'm using this one on my TJ:

If you don't mount is in front of the radiator look for one with it's own fan.

How did you tap your new cooler lines into the hard return line? This is something I'll need to be doing after Thanksgiving when I start the new auto tranny installation.

Here's some pics.
This is the output of the tranny cooler at the bottom of the radiator. This line runs right to the aux tranny cooler that I have mounted behind the grill.
This is the return line that goes back from the aux tranny cooler to the tranny. Its the stock cooler line with the rubber hose end portion removed. You can just unclamp the factory rubber hose and replace it with a longer hose that will reach to the aux cooler.
And just for reference, here's the stock input tranny cooler line. This will be unmodified and will run straight from the tranny to the cooler in the bottom of the radiator. This is what the stock output line looks like before you remove the rubber hose from the end of it.

One more question, did you fish the aux cooler behind the grill by going through the headlight opening or did you unbolt the radiator?

I moved the radiator out of the way.
It gives you more room to work when mounting it rather than if you had fished it through the headlight.
Please don't ask how I mounted it. I'd rather not admit that mine is zip tied to the V support.
Someday I should probably replace those zip ties with u-bolts or something.

Thanks again, that was helpful. Now I've got to come up with a good way for mounting the two tranny temp gauge senders.
And I won't breathe a word to anyone that your cooler is zip tied in place.

There's 2 test ports on the opposite side of the tranny from the cooler lines. My tranny builder told me to use either or both of these.
Though I haven't installed my gauge yet, and I'm not sure if I want to install it this way.
I'm going to discuss this with another tranny builder and research this a little more before I do anything.
