track bar questions...

the front track bar.. with a 3" lift i know i have to do somethign bout it.. im told i can just drill a new hole for it.. does anyone know where to drill it? about how far from the stock location? and for the rear im trying to find a relocation bracket but the soonest i can get one is tuesday or wed. but its my DD and i need the jeep asap lol so if anyone knows where i can get a bracket around the springfield area, it'd help a lot.. or what i was thinking was untill tuesday, could i just cut the track bar and weld a pipe over it to extend it in the middle? at work i can get some real thick pipe so the strength isnt an issue but would it work? or would it cram up in the bottom location?

If you plan to get a replacement trackbar, or aftermarket bracket, then don't relocate the bar now. It's not going to hurt to drive it for a couple days, just watch for rubbing when you crank the wheel.

my main concern is the rear bar i worked my *** of to get that bar back in and the axle is WAY too far over im not even gonna try to drive it like that so i disconnected one end of it.. i'll deal with the front being a lil off i didnt think about that.. that i can just use the stock front setup but i really need to figure somethign out for the rear hopefully today or tomorrow cuz the jeep is at my work i need to get it out of the garage haha

Don't cut the stock bar. A RE trackbar bracket is about $65, and takes about an hour to install.

but i need to drive it now so if i cut it and weld it back together with a piece of pipe, it will be replaced tuesday for sure i just need to know if its gonna work and how much to extend it

You can go to the Rubicon Express website and download their instructions for a 3.5 inch kit. They have you drill a hole in the axle bracket on the front. I don't remember if its 1/2 inch or 3/4 offset from the original hole. In any case the hole you would want to drill should be 1/2 the distance the axle is offset at its current state.
I've installed one of their 3.5 inch kits with this method and it worked fine.

Their kit also comes with a reloation bracket for the rear.

Black Diamond instructions call for the hole on the axle bracket to be drilled 3/4" away from the current hole. That looked way to close for me so I just bought a adjustable track bar.

If you move your front trackbar's mounting location, you'll change it's parallel relationship to the draglink. This often means a new pitman arm, which is silly for a lift that is only 3".

When the mounting points for your trackbar and draglink are not parallel, you're likely to suffer bumpsteer.

Get an adjustable trackbar. You can get by for quite some time with the stock one. I still had to drill out the mounting hole for my JKS front trackbar, but it is still in the original mounting location.
