Trac bars?

Is a new trac bar something you need with a 4" lift? I believe the lift kit itself came with trac bar brackets but still uses the stock track bars. Sometimes I do feel what I have read is bump steer. But it's not a huge deal. Are trac bars easy to install?

Adjustable tracbars aren't going to eliminate bump-steer. To eliminate bump-steer, you need the drag-link and trac bar to the the same angle. Therefore, unless you are going to use a tracbar drop bracket(different from a relocation bracket), don't install the drop pitman arm because it will cause the drag link to be at a smaller angle than the tracbar. If you have the money to get adjustable tracbars to replace tracbar relocation brackets, do it. They keep the axle centered and are much more reliable than a relocation bracket, which is a good thing. They are extremely easy to install, 2 nuts, a bolt, a measuring tape, and two wrenches is all it takes to get the front tracbar installed and the axle centered.

I didn't lift the jeep myself, it was done by a previous owner. And I believe this is the kit he used:
http://www.4wheelparts.com/PDT52712.aspx

It has a pitman arm and trackbar brackets.

So what do you think I should do in this case? Just grab some adjustable track bars for front and back and call it good? I don't know if those brackets are drop brackets or relocation brackets.

I am taking it in to Les Schwab tomorrow to look at the breaks. I've also asked that they look over the lift and see if everything is ok. I can pass along some of this info for them to check.

Take the drop pitman arm off and replace it with a stocker would be the first thing I would do. That will probably help the bumpsteer considerably. Then I would start thinking about the adjustable track bars and lower control arms since the picture of the kit looks like it came with uppers.
