Towing with my TJ, a wiring question.

Are all TJ's set up to tow a trailer, from a wiring perspective? I have a 3500lb hitch that's been on my TJ since I bought it, and I need to tow a trailer with my brother's motorcycles. At current, it's the best choice we have for towing.

So, are those two little wires sticking out the back of my tailgate sufficient to wire up a trailer? Or do I have to get a different set up to do it?

Those two wires just feed the third brake light above the spare. They don't provide power for turn signals or tail lights.

Go to autozone.com, check part number 42605. This will plug directly into your existing wiring harness. No cutting or splicing required.

Don't be fulled by the rating on the trailer hitch. Your TJ is rated at 2000 lbs.
