I've got a 4" on mine & towed a trailer about...1000lbs total weight with it before. Obviously had to use a drop hitch, but other than that it did just fine. It was a bit sluggish to start, but nost things are when towing & starting from a dead stop. The trailer was probably about 10 feet long, 5 feet wide. The TJ did just fine both around town and on the highway towing it. Just make sure that you give yourself PLENTY of stopping distance.

I use mine for towing all the time. 2k boat and a utility trailer. No problems.

I think he is talking about towing it behind something.....by the way he is having a tow bar installed on it, not a tow hitch........

I tow my 05 Rubicon with OME lift on it all the time, no problems. Did the same with the 04 Sahara and same lift, no problems.

We have a motorhome and stay in the RV parks and I see people with LA's, big tires, etc. that tow them all over the country and I have never heard of any problems.

Bear in mind that I am towing a 4K pound Jeep with a 14K pound motorhome. Trying to tow something that weighs as much or more than the tow vehicle may be different.

Allow plenty of room for braking in any case.
