Torque Converter Solenoid problem, wont shift into gear

I have a '97 4 cyl. TJ 2.5SE (unfortunatly automatic) I just got with a Torque Converter Solenoid problem that Im trying to fix, but I cant find any info on where its located or how to fix it. It can idle fine but as soon as its shifted into drive it stalls out. Anyone else have this problem? Ive seen a few sites around saying its kind of a common problem but no one has a straight answer on how to fix it. Previous Owner Dropped that transmission pan and replaced the tranny fluid and it worked for about 4 hours but the next day it had same problem. I bought it cheap thinking I could fix it but its turning out to be a bit of a hassle. Any tips or instructions or directions on where its even located would be helpful - thanks.

the solenoid is under the pan bolted to the valve body...

unplug the electrical connector on the side of the transmission, that will prevent the clutch from locking without diabling the vehicle.

the convertor it'self could also be a problem.
