Top front shock mount....again

Ok heres the deal, i can't get the top shock mount off......the nut just won't turn....i've grinded, pb blasted and everything else i can think of........

SO can i cut the strut and then be able to just pull it out through the hole in the engine bay? Where should i try to cut it if i can? thanks for the help in advance

Sure You can cut it .
Last September when I installed my lift & shocks I had the same problem .
I ended up grinding the nut about 1/2 way through .
With the heat from grinding and the loss of material , it ( the nut ) basically just fell off after that .

If you are talking about cut the rod, you still have the stone guard attached to the rod below and the nut above the shock tower, no?

Just cut between the nut and upper bushing.

I used a ginder to flatten the sides of the shaft so a wrench could grab hold and turn it.

YEAH!! i finally got em off!!!!! Thnk god my buddy randomly showed up and gave my an idea.....I used a sawsall and cut the bastards out.....duh.....should have thought of that yesterday afternoon...........anyway thanks to everone for the help!!

If you don't plan on using them again, you would be surprised how easily you can break them off. Jus t grab the shock and bend it back and forth. Usually just four or five times back and forth and . . . POP . .. They're off!
