Top down with rollbar Hi Lift mount...

Pic pretty much says it all. I still have stock bumpers so mounting options are limited(hate hood mounts). Anyway the top won't go all the way down(it's down but it's annoying how much it sticks up). Any suggestions?

Note: This is an aftermarket Bestop Sunrider. SWB version.

I got Hi-Lift 4X400 - Hi-Lift Jack® Bumper Mount 4xRac - Quadratec and stuck it up on the front. Can dig out pics if you want.

Any issues when offroad? Looks like it would take a beating.

Just take the top off entirely. Yours looks different than mine was, mine was just four torx screws, but the frame mounted in different spots. shouldn't make much of a difference though.

It's hauls kids, I gotta have it. Note the hint of a blue car seat in the rear.

And yeah it's an aftermarket Bestop. Not factory.

I don't do a lot of rock climbing or anything with it but since it sticks out the front of the bumper, anything likely to catch it would catch the bumper anyway. Its survived literally tens of thousands of highway/street miles and 5 or 6 trips to green ridge (plus last winter's snowpocalypse)

It hasn't been vibrated off, warped, rusted (more than a tiny bit), etc although I did have to cut the locks off it last time I took it off So I need new locks, and to figure out a better protective bag - the one I had on there managed to hold a lot of water in with the mechanism. (Time for a hilift refresh kit..)

Hmmmm... I don't have that problem.

Here's mine : Hi-lift mounted on rollcage - One thing to note is that I have reversed it since then and shaved a bit off the railing so the hard top would fit. When putting the top down, I have to "stretch" it over a bit but it's ok.

So do you put it up when you drive your kids?
Get some cargo netting on the sides

Thanks. Today was the first time I had the soft top down(hard top all winter). I'll try giving it a tug next time I put it down. If that doesn't work I'm still open to options.

haha, naw. It's spring in Indiana. Mornings on the way to school are pretty chilly. 45 degrees + 55MPH + top down = very angry children.

Yep... that's pretty much what I do. Plus having it indoors keeps it away from rusting with all the salt on the roads here during winter.

My jack is mounted like that.
I mounted it with wing-nuts .... on the exhaust claps.

If I were you I'd remove the jack , put the top down , push it below the mounts then re-instal the jack over it ......
