Too much VROOOM?

I am currently running a Bank's Monster Exhaust on my 97' TJ. It's loud as hell. I think it sounds great but my neighbors are shaking their heads when I pull in at 1 or 2 am. Even I can admit that the sound is a little excessive (it was under the state sound limit by 3 decibles).

I like my exhaust system and dont really feel like spending a bunch of money to replace it. I was hoping that there might be some type of sound dampening tip that could replace the one from Banks? It would be ideal if it didn't interupt flow, maybe just re-direct the air or sound waves to take the edge off. Any ideas would be greatly welcomed.

Cheers,

Biermann

I'm not sure if there's much you can do. Restrictive and quiet go hand in hand. I've heard of people stuffing steel wool in their mufflers...give it a go. if you don't like it you can always pull it back out with a pair of pliars
