Well, this project has been on hold while I sold my old house, bought the new one, and eventually got the new garage set up well enough to start making sparks, but yesterday I finally started making my long arm setup. I'm basically modeling it after Clayton's kit, primarily because I got the square steel tubing for free-fifty-free. Lance (geauxturbo) did this as well and has been really helpful answering some of my questions while I get ready for the fabrication. Thanks, bud!
Here's some pics of what I'm starting with. The raw steel:
Bushing sleeves and square tube threaded inserts:
A few of the Johnny Joints I'll be using:
Rough outline of the front radius arms. The upper piece of steel will be cut to make the upper control arms:

The axle end:

Fricken Awesome! I have been thinking about making my own adjustable short arms then when I want to go long arm I can reuse the Johnny joints, or sell them and get new ones. Just not ready to weld brackets on the frame yet. Speaking of which what are you doing for brackets? I didn't see it earlier but I may have missed it. Also where did you get those bushings and housing?
Thanks for posting up those square tubing adapters.
