still watching...and waiting...

I want to go long arm as well but i just cant see ******* over that kind of cash so your build may be just what Im looking for.

Funny how you said "that kind of animal" me and my wife say the same thing about things all the time and peole look at us funny....

Finally!!

Well, this project has been on hold while I sold my old house, bought the new one, and eventually got the new garage set up well enough to start making sparks, but yesterday I finally started making my long arm setup. I'm basically modeling it after Clayton's kit, primarily because I got the square steel tubing for free-fifty-free. Lance (geauxturbo) did this as well and has been really helpful answering some of my questions while I get ready for the fabrication. Thanks, bud!

First bushing sleeve welded into place:


Insert welded into place. Notice the holes in the arms for plug welds:

A finished lower minus the bracketry to mount the upper to it. Today I'll build the chassis mounts and upper control arm mounts:

Fricken Awesome! I have been thinking about making my own adjustable short arms then when I want to go long arm I can reuse the Johnny joints, or sell them and get new ones. Just not ready to weld brackets on the frame yet. Speaking of which what are you doing for brackets? I didn't see it earlier but I may have missed it. Also where did you get those bushings and housing?

ok so i guess your making short arm uppers and long arm lowers?

are u worried about driveshafts binding? cuz i herd if u do that it will cause the axle to twist werid and cause the shafts to bind?

It'll be a radius arm front setup and the rear will be triangulated with long uppers and lowers.
