I have already heard of overkill eng taking forever with shipping dates. That aside... Which, in your opinion, is better for me?
I DD my TJ and off road once a month.

The TNT phantoms are a bolt on and require no drilling or cutting (so they say) http://gotreks.com/page.asp?pageid=116
cons:
-lotta mud/road debri flinging
-battery needs to be a dry cell
-need a aftermarket air intake that just might get water in it since I see mud holes
-no pre-drilled holes for turn signals
-state I need to use 3m sealant for the inner fender then some other product for a smooth look and that kinda sucks. I just wanna get the product, paint it, clear coat it, and install.
pros:
-look friggin sweet IMO
-can clear 35's w/ factory lift (so website says)
-cheaper then overkill eng (though money isn't an object in this case)
-known for great shipping time

OR

The Overkill Engineering flares are also bolt on and require no drilling or cutting (so they say)
cons:
-website says nothing about if I need a dry cell battery, an intake, ect... very little details again not sure if it too clears 35's on factory suspension as TNT states
-more expensive when opting for the LED's (but again I don't care about price)
-not so good turn around time from what I heard from other JF members.
pros:
-looks like a 3" flare so less mud/road debri flinging (for the basic fender not the extended 4" ugly one that's on their site)
-sweet looking LED turnsignals built in

Please go to their site to see pics it's flash based pics I can't copy/paste in here http://www.overkilleng.com/overkillengineering/fronttjfender.htm

I don't wanna discuss BTF, Rev111, RRC, XRC, Gen-Right, ect.... Just these two. Sorry. But thanks in advance for chiming in especially if you know of anyone with the Overkill Engineering. I can't find anyone that has these.

I don't know what size tire you are running but you might wanna make sure you will have enough fender to keep you legal otherwise the cost of fix-it tickets may soon become not worth it. IMO the overkill ones look better, I like the integrated LEDs.

the whole 3M sealant thing is wrong on the TNT's. i just got mine took them to the powdercoater and had them all done and installed them. great so far. they just look fabricated is all :)

the no drilling thing is BS though, you need to mount all of your under hood stuff to the inner fender like the rest of us did, and if you already have an optima battery or similar type - you're set. and if you dont have that style of battery, you really should get one.

i had to wait 3 weeks for mine because i was at the bottom of the list and they were selling out of the fenders but they actually shipped them and didnt know it until i had called them and he said "oh... looks like they were shipped out 2 days ago... well thats fantastic"

the overkills with the flare looks like they will reduce your tire clearance. I never understood that about their design. you want to get the fender away from the tire, not put it closer. personally I like the TnT's, or Gen-Right. I love the Rokmen high clearance fenders :D

another vote for TnTs i love mine, i have a 3.5in flare, like spyder said you do have to drill to mount all the under hood accessories but its really not that hard. also i dont know what the deal is with the dry battery ive been running a normal battery in my TnTs waiting for it to die and its been going strong for over a year. i used herculiner type coating and mounted them up in an afternoon imo they are the best

How has everyone solved the problem of the aftermarket intake with the TnT's though? Eventually I plan on running a snorkel, and I'm really not wild about the cone style for letting in all that dust and perhaps some Florida mud... That's the only thing that keeps me from pulling the trigger on some; any suggestions?

i run a AFE CAI with a dry filter and i carry a spare filter with me when i ever i go out. i have no problem with dust as the AFE dry filters are a great product. i just cleaned my original filter last night, filthy as hell (25k miles) but there was no dust to be seen in the intake tube.

i am worried about mud though, oh well, i'll modify the original shroud.

you can see my setup in this picture

I'm doing the TNT's. I've talked at length with Bob the owner of TNT about their design and application and honestly feel like theirs is a far superior product to anything else out there for me. I plan to use a windstar or escort airbox in place of my stock box. Both of which could be ran with a snorkel later (which I also plan on doing) with little work. There are more options than just the Buick or Mustang box talked about in Unlimited04's thread. As I said earlier, an Escort or Windstar box will also work. And I believe both are far more "inline" than the Buick box with it's abrupt airflow angles.

As for the Overkill stuff, I liked a lot of their product when I first was looking at parts for my build, but didn't like the prices on most of it. Then, compound that with a lot of the problems other people have had with them either with shipping, or payment issues, or whatever else... I just decided I'm better off without the headache. TNT and Overkill were my top two choices for tubes for me because I didn't like the extra "hump" that everyone elses flares give. TNT won out due to their superior design though. For me, I could fit 39s with my almost 4 inches of lift with the TNTs. I have no intention of doing so, but it's nice to know that the space is there if I ever want to go bigger than 35's.

I'd do TNT and not think twice about it. That's where I'm spending my money.

I love the TNT's, and that's what I plan on getting when the time comes, (if I don't like the Rokmen tubes that will be coming out soon).

I had never seen the overkill's until now, and I think they look cool and unique, but I agree with Unlimited04, it looks like they'll reduce clearance; not to mention there quite expensive and feedback isn't great. If you have problems with tires sticking out, get the 3" flare on the TNT's, get some cheap LED's, and still not pay as much as for the Overkill's. That's my opinion.

I got tired of waiting on Rokmen to come out with those. I got tired of waiting on Rokmen for a lot of things. You'll notice, not one of their parts will be on my Jeep. Anyways, even if they have taken all this time and done it right by re-designing the inner fender to actually make use of the highline and have it not just be for looks, I'm sure the pricing will be ridiculous. And you will still run into the same issues that you get with TNT's fenders (not able to use the stock airbox). And I'm sure it will actually have a little LESS room under the hood (If they are designed for maximum gain in the wheel wells). Where TNT's allows you to re-mount everything in what space is left. It will be interesting to see what Rokmen ever does with that. If anything. There are so many Rokmen fanboys on here that I'm sure they'll make a killing.

I went with TNT's.....originally had Poison Spider tubes, sliders, and rear full corners on order as they were going out of business. The owner called to tell me they were cancelling my order. I asked him who he'd personally go with and he recommended TNT. I LOVE the look and quality. the OP is correct that the phantom fenders looks sweet, but TNT has all the tire coverage you want....I think they have phantom, no fender, 3", 4.5", and 6" flare options. I went with 4.5" and all i did was rattle can paint them and slap them on.

I hope they work out for you bud.

Me too brother. Hope everything over in the sand box is ok with ya as well. I send my regards to you and your men over there.
I recently ordered a set of Overkill fenders. I called and ordered on a Friday and they told me I would have them in two weeks. They came on the exact day they told me they would. No problems at all with shipping or anything else. They kept in great contact with me along the way and the quality is impressive.

I did a search for the best price on the net and then called Overkill to see if they would match it. They did without hesitation.
Mud... PM sent. Where are the pics?:cool::D

So far so good. I'm hoping to be wrenching within 2 months.

I am still in the installation process. I will post some pictures when finished and they are painted.

Here is a few......
This is my daily driver. I wanted to keep it legal but still have protection from the trees, etc so I went with the flair. Tire clearance is more than enough for my 285/75/16's.

Anyone reading this thread let it be known that if you order from Overkill that you will have a long struggle on your hands to get your product and get a response from the company. I am currently working with the state of Washington to have their business license reviewed and revoked if possible. I have contacted the BBB, the states attorney general, the secretary of state, along with the town of Arlington. Myself or my body shop has yet to hear back from these people even after they said we would have tracking information no later than May 30th. Road armor and Overkill use to be the same company but early this year they separated because the business partners didn't agree on stuff. The business partner that was supervising Overkill Engineering is Gabe Giles. The parent company for Overkill is Gile Design LLC, their UBI number is 603066232. There are also several other sub companies that were part of this group. If you are dealing with any company in the state of Washington around the Arlington area double check to make sure it is not this company.

I'm with ya!

I ordered mine on March 31 and received them over 3 months later. It has been a HORRIBLE experience for us. I did the same. I called the Attorney General in Arlington, WA, the BBB, and also called my local Attorney General getting all of my ducks in a row, just in case I didn't get the fenders, which I had prepaid for. I left countless messages on the company toll-free line and direct line. The girl only answered once, and then finally, I found Gabe on the NorthWest 4x4 forum, so I called him out there. I finally got a message from one of his friends who is helping out. He promised me that he would have Gabe call me. He did, weeks later, and told me he was behind on production because the supplier closed his doors and Gabe had to travel from Arlington to Illinois to get his 'PAID FOR' metal back to his shop. Then he gave me his cell phone number. I have only been successful in speaking with him one time. The fenders are here, and are being installed. He said he sent the LED lights to my home and the fenders to the body shop. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE LIGHTS. Does anyone know what model number or make of lights he uses for the TJ Classic fender? The hole in the fender measures on the outside 5/8 x 2.5 inches. I can't find them anywhere. I am very disappointed with Gabe's service to say the least. I paid for the lights and haven't received them, and now he doesn't have the common courtesy to text, email or call the information to me. It's a shame that he can't run his business more professionally because he puts out an AWESOME product.

LED Lights for OVERKILL TUBE FENDERS

I have called his cell phone and have left numerous messages. He has not returned my calls. Measuring from the outside, it will take a 5/8 x 2.5" LED light, but measuring from the inside, it seems to be larger because it is flush-mounted from the inside out. He even has the holes predrilled. Very clean job. I WANT MY LIGHTS!!! Anyone have any suggestions of where to find this type of yellow LED light? I've searched Ebay, and can't find what might be a good size. I guess I'll have to go to Autozone or Advance and just try different sizes.

As I stated before, I agree, the BBB has no complaints against him. I just wish he would get in touch with me and give me the model number and make of the lights so I can get the install completed.

I called the folks over at T&T and they were more than happy to work with me. So I have new fenders from them on the way while I deal with Overkill. The next step is to contact an actual attorney in Washington to start to take him to court. At this point in time I don't care one way or another. I have a receipt and he deposed the money so I should get my parts. If he doesn't show up to court they will just leave a lean against his house if no employer is listed and I get myself a new house in Washington. He has several not to happy people floating around this country, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes right now.
