TJ with YJ Instrument cluster!

When I got the jeep (97 2.5L), I noticed the previous owner had replaced the Intrument panel and A/C controls with YJ ones. I asked him why on earth did he do that, and he said the originals had been stolen while he was on a trip..... (I'm in Central America, so the availability of parts is really low, and back in the late 80's the gvt, purchased lots of YJ's for military purpose, so their parts are pretty abundant)

OK I got a significant price drop out of that and thought it would be a quick fix...

I recently purchased the proper Instrument Cluster, and when I tried installing noticed the connectors were different!

Does that mean he swapped out the whole wiring harness? Is that possible without swapping out the stock computer? I'm looking on ebay for 2.5L 97 wiring conectors, and see several but don't have a clue what I should be looking for.

Any help or Advice would be Appreciated!
cheers
Henry

(I will post some pics later on in the day)

Build you a aluminum plate to hide the open areas and it would look ok then.
