im calling BS, there is no way you carry all this.... in an rv? thats a diff question... how do you excpect me to believe you take a generater and 5, 10, pund sledge... cmon is this practical.....

OK you got me. I forget to mention a few of the items I don't bring. Here's what I do not bring from the list:

-Generator (On the list for when I construct my planned CJ/YJ Project & take it to the the trail on a tow rig & trailer)
-Air Compressor (Same reason as generator [above])
-Air tools (no compressor, no tools [once I have OBA I will bring these])
-Air Hoses (See above)
-Repair Manual (I don't own this in a paper copy so I don't bring it)
-Wiring Diagram (See above)
-Spare rear axleshafts (I didn't own these till last week but they will be brought from now on and take up minimal space)
-Flares (Don't own)
-Hi-Lift (Don't own yet [another Jeeper on the ride does] but when buy it will be mounted on rollbar)
-Shovel (Too lazy to pack the coal shovel that would fit perfectly in the tub)
-Ax (Don't own)
-Gas Can (Don't own)
-Winch Accessories (No winch, no accessories)
-Most of the medical list (Don't own but i NEED TO BUY. EVERYONE should! They would all fit in a small backpack.)
-Camping Gear (Don't camp much when I off-road)

Otherwise, I carry the remainder of my list with me. For anyone wondering if they can fit it, here's a picture of everything on my previous list, not mentioned the above, packed in my jeep on my last trail ride. Hopefully you can see that it's below the tub line (best picture I have).

Yes, sort of, depending on the wheel offset and tire width. You may need an aftermarket bracket to replace the stock one to push the tire out further, or do as others have done and let some air out of the tire (which might defeat the purpose of having a spare).

Is it a good idea?

No. It can damage your tail gate. It will either crack the hinges, or it will slowly peel your tail gate back. If you do it, get the tire as snug against the tail gate and body as possible by extending the rubber pads with washers, and make plans to buy a tire carrier.
