So you didn't remove the shroud, just the overflow tank correct? My sons just left to go get the parts.

I never touched my fan shroud. It's tight but the fans will slide in and out with the right angle of the dangle. You may need to grab 4 small bolts to bolt the ford fan onto the ford fan clutch. You cant use the jeep bolts.

Ford bolts are a very common 6x1mm I believe. They use a 10mm socket to tighten and remove them.

I don't have a bolt on fan clutch to try out. I bet that you could drill holes in the metal backing on the Ford fan and bolt it to your Jeep fan clutch........Assuming that the jeep fan clutch has enough guts to turn 10 blades.

Both have the bolt-on fan, it's the fan clutch that mounts different...

So are there any cheap options for the 97's that anyone knows of?

Gun Control Means Using Both Hands

1997 Jeep TJ - Truly BUILT not BOUGHT! Purchased from original owner stock... obviously THAT didn't last long!

The OEM fan clutch (for the 5 blade) wont turn that fan efficiently...
