TJ Prep for offroad trip

Aloha! My wheelin buddies and i are in the process of preparing for a wheelin trip. I would like to know what you guys carry with you on the trail for spare parts and how to prep my vehicle. word is that the trail is very muddy (cuz kauai is one of the rainiest places on earth), has plenty of deep water holes, lots of off camber, rutted, blah blah. unfortunately i will be the only jeep on the run. the rest are all toyota or zukis guys so the misc stuff and tools can be interchanged. i'm mostly interested in the JEEP SPECIFIC stuff.

my current setup can be seen in my sig.

what i got on my list so far:
front and rear ds
spare shafts for front and rear axles
ujoints
alternator
starter
misc fuses
tire repair kit

i know i'm missing a lot i've just never done a run like this before so all help is appreciated!

i think i got the tools covered, just throwing stuff in there that i use when i gotta work on the jeep. i also plan on doing some waterproofing so if you got anything for me there, i'd appreciate that too. TIA!

If your running a stock tie rod all it takes is one good hit to rainbow it...

and along the lines of weak front end stuff- maybe a spare upper and lower balljoint just to be safe... unless you have a front locker you probably wont break one.

I second the fluids. I've seen rigs bash their radiator and become sitting ducks due to no fluid. Throw in a container of pepper, yes the pepper on your kitchen table.

I would get a hi-jack on your list. It's an extraction tool, spare part, and jack. What i mean by spare part is if you bash in your tie-rod, you can take off the handle of the jack and pound it over the tie rod for a temp fix to get you off the trail. I've done this twice. There are many different uses to the jack in emergency situations...

Gotta agree with Tenacious....

DIGITAL CAMERA...a video camera would be even better with a photographer in the passenger seat

Don't forget the tow strap you never know what you might run into out there! I also agree on the digital camera and video camera I know me and my buddies always video our offroading/mudding adventures. It makes for good entertainment the next week at work after you edit the video and burn it to CD! Also a great gift for your off-roading pals!

Radiator/cooling repair stuff. That mud (well maybe not Hawaiian mud) stuff has a tendacy to clog and lodge itself into places that keep your engine cool. I'd also take an extra pair of wiper blades.

have a blast.

copied from my list:

FOOD:
misc canned goods
crackers
travel salt and pepper
lots of water

COOKING:
msc and propane with small stainless bowls

MISC NEEDED:
sleeping bag
2 sets of clothes and 3 extra pairs of socks
camping style water filter system
emergency heat blankets
bottle of lighter fluid

PROTECTION:
pistol with extra ammo (as needed)

PARTS:
wire ties
duck tape
misc bolts and nuts (all sizes)
axel (if on hand)
u-joints
spare tire
steering fluid
transmission fluid

TOOLS:
misc wrenches/sockets
hi-lift jack
tow strap
chain
shovel
pick (if needed)
tire repair kit
emergency flares
CB radio
Cell Phone (with charger)

I deleted alot that is on the whole list, but that is the jist of it, alot of these items are not nessassary, but you never know what your going to run into, I think the MOST IMPORTANT thing of all is that you let your friends/family know where you will be and when you will return, that way if for some reason you run into trouble that your not planned out for, they will know where to come looking!!!

One thing you might add to your list is some sort of air source be it a portable compressor or air tank
