TJ long-term build

Hey guys, I've been on jf for about a year now and (unfortunately) gone through two jeeps since. Long story short my current jeep is an 02 TJ which I love to death. It is my daily driver right now and I am pretty much a broke college kid. Being bone stock there are a million and one things I want to do to it. I get even get excited when it comes time to do regular maintenance...haha.

Anyways, the point of this thread is that eventually (and I'm talking over the period of a few years as I work my way through school) I would love to have an awesome rig with a 4.5 LA suspension, tummy tuck, 33-35" tires, winch, aux lighting, and the list goes on. My question is what would be the best starting point? I know things like an sye & driveshaft will be necessary but am not sure what other upgrades would be required for my dream set-up. I am wanting to start with the basic things and basically "prep" my rig for the lift and bigger tires over time so I can spread the cost out instead of dropping $5000 at once.

Also, can anyone give me some info for some 4x4 clubs in the middle-georgia area to get some wheeling in...I go to school in milledgeville and work in greensboro and spend quite a bit of time in augusta (where the g/f lives) so anything around those areas would be awesome.

Thanks guys!!

You had a good idea there. Do things like the SYE or skids.
I suggest the Super Short SYE kit, go for maximum driveshaft length to eliminate any vibes.
Do you want to get new wheels to or keep the stock ones. If you keep the stock ones then buy some spacers, Spydertrac is an awesome brand.
Overall I would do the SYE and then some other cheap mods, that way you will be able to save for the big purchase.

There are a few Clubs in north Ga you can check out www.southernjeeps.org and www.oc4wd.com . Also you go to school right down the road from River Rock ORV Park www.riverrockorv.com. Hope this helps a little.
