The TJ & LJ Highline/Flat Fender/Tube Fender Bible

So, I got tired of a million threads on which hi-line should I get etc...

Such as (other pertinent threads go here)--
Undecided on Tube Fenders- Opinions Wanted
Low Cog 35" or more less than 3" total lift
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=540211

Also, since after I finish my axles and 4 link rear next thing would be some kind of front hi-line, this is also selfish. Thanks to SuperWade2 for starting the base for this.

Please suggest edits, add photos for me to link to, etc. I am looking to everyone to help make this as accurate as possible. I will only add so many pics per fender/company.

Although this includes kits that aren't hi line, that is the focus of this thread, kits that allow 35's with no lift, or 37's with 2-3" lift. I do plan on adding the tube fenders as time goes on. For companies that have both hi-lines and factory hood line fenders I generally excluded the factory hood line fenders although they may exist.

Claimed clearance and weight numbers were either taken from websites or sent to me via PM on the forum. These are listed as claimed because there is a lot of debate as to how these are measured, how accurate they are, etc.

Stock Fender weighs 20 lbs w/Flare and Turn Signals

I updated for the above. I also pretty much set 32" as the standard for non hi line tubes with no lift.

I'm glad you put this together...Thanks!

It would be interesting to reach out to the vendors of each of these (maybe via PM in on JF or Email) and ask for 4-5 succinct, specific and quantifiable points about their product(s) that differentiate it from the others in the market... It will end up being marketing speak, but would be interesting to hear what the vendors thinks set them apart from each other since we are looking at and talking about the things "we" think makes them different.

FYI--any tube fender that's "non hi line" will not require hood trimming so you can remove the "???" from those. And any standard hi line fender that does require hood trimming can 'fit' whatever you want to try to stuff under there at stock height. That doesn't mean it'll work well or leave enough room for the same time in the rear. There are no 'rules' or set guidelines and all non-highlines will yield about the same clearance. On that note, all highlines yield about the same clearance. Using "clearance gained over stock" would be a better metric than "confirmed tire size at stock height."

What I'm trying to get at is there are bunch of fenders out there. The main difference is aesthetics and who you like better. No highline fender will gain more clearance than other highline fenders and no non-highline fender will really gain more than any other non-highline fender. The only exception is MC's, which is a nice hybrid between the two. You gain more than a standard tube fender but not as much as a highline fender--but you don't have to cut the hood.

Why highline? Because they DO provide significantly more clearance than stock fenders and tube fenders. Why not trim the factory fenders? Because it'll look like **** and still leave me with weak sheet metal. Plus, I'd rather sell my stock fenders for $300 to help pay for the new ones. And why not the Campbell hoods? Because they don't have an inner fender. All of those reasons are why I went with Rokmen.
