TJ coil spring install question

when installing coils on a tj front and rear does one need coil spring compressors? or if you disco and jack it way up can u get 3" springs in? and on the rear when u add longer sway bar extensions and 3" coils do u need compressors there or will it droop low enough to get the 3" springs in? thanks and any other tips let me know. -chris

No spring compressors are needed for either end. Just unhook the sway bar links and the shocks.

If you can't get the axle to droop enough, a good trick is to use a bottle jack between the frame and axle. Or have a buddy stand on the axle.

Jacking up the opposite side of the axle can also help.

I have installed 3" springs without coil compressors several times. Make sure the shocks and antiswaybars are disconnected from the axles and they will droop enough (or close) to get the springs in. You may need someone to lift up the other side of the axle or push down on the side you're inserting the springs on a little to create a little more room.

Be careful not to overextend your brake lines.

You should be good to go, the buddy standing on the axle thing worked for me.
