TJ Accessories Turn On When Vehicle Is Off

I posted this in the Electronic Forum also, but I thought that if it is an actuating rod, etc., that the Technical Forum might also have an answer for me.

Ok, so I have done some research here on JF and still can't find the answer I am looking for.

So last night I am getting off of work and I walk out to my Jeep. As I get closer I can hear the aftermarket electric fan I installed running?! I open my door and the interior lights are on and it makes the dinging sound like the key is in the ignition, even though it is not yet. So I put the key in and try to start it. No joy. But then I noticed as I took the key out that it didn't seem to turn the accessories off. (I could see my odometer dimly lit up). Anyway, I get my buddy to jump me and head for the house making sure to keep my rpms up to get a charge on the battery.
So I get home and turn off the Jeep. Everything seems normal now, the accessories go off, my fan goes off, etc. I was pretty sure that I hadn't walked away from Jeep with the fan running when I parked it at work. So I decided to poke my head out of my front door every so often to check and see if it turned itself on. Well, I check a couple of times and everything seems to be ok. Then about 30 minutes after I am home and sitting on my couch, I hear it. My fan just starts running?!?! So I go out and disconnect my battery.
In some of the research I did before posting this, I read that TJs sometimes have a problem with this kind of thing. Like an actuating rod in the steering column or something. I tried searching for anything like that and came up with nothing. So basically, if this is something that has been talked about in length, (like the best oil, etc). Please direct me to the threads as I cannot find them. Otherwise, does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? Thanks to any replies..

I'm betting the ignition switch itself has simply gone bad which is an easy replacement.
