Concerning the air bags. There are not sensors in the bumpers which is why there are so many bumpers available for Jeeps. There is a little box in front of the console and under the dash that sits on the transmission hump. That is what controls if the air bags deploy or not. I've heard that there is a ball bearing in there and when a sudden stop occurs, the ball will slide forward and hit a sensor which will tell the computer to deploy the airbags. I don't know if it works for side to side motions or not though.

It is a Chris Durham hood. I gave 300 for the hood and 100 for shipping. That is silly cheap. He had it in stock and it was shipped to me in one week. I couldn't be happier with it!!

Here is what it looks like on a TJ

My neighbor help me pull the engine. Didn't take long. Andy came by (with the beer) and gave me some good info as to where to cut the frame in half. I'm going to do that next weekend. Gives me an excuse to break out the plasma. I'm pumped about re-building the front of the frame with square tubeing. I think it is going to be better than new and I can build the frame however long I want while I'm at it. I'll post up some pics of the engine pulling tomorrow

I took a little get away on Sunday to take my girl out to my dads farm and help her catch her first fish. She ended up catching 6 flat head in less than an hr. on worms. It was a great time for all.

I dig the hood. Does he just modify a TJ hood, or is it fiberglass? I'm curious because that would be awesome for a tube fender set up.

I'm not sure. I have the motor, trans and T-case already but I need to get the frame cut off in the front this weekend. Then I'll pick up some 2x4 square tube and get my new front frame welded up. At that point the motor will go in so I can figure out where I'm going to run the exaust etc.

I do too. I like the idea of being able to get your rig lower. If you were to get tube fenders for it you would have to make them as it is a highline hood so the bolt up stuff won't match up. It is fiberglass (less weight) And he sells them for other models of jeeps too.
