The height will really depend on your suspension geometry and how much you want to cut out. Getting it really low takes quite a bit more work.
sounds like it's time to start looking for a 2" BL. I'm hoping to find some time this weekend to start striping away at all the **** hanging off the front. Fenders, Hood, Grill, windshield etc. (front clip). That will make it easier to pull the engine, trans, and T case as well as give me a chance to see exactly how bad the frame damage is. I"m going to leave the axles under it as long as I can so I can roll it in and out of my work area.

It will drive. But only F & R. And if the ground isn't even with no steering box attached you won't end up going straight. I was going to take the bucket on my loader/tractor and lift the front up. Chain that ugly bumper to the bucket and back it into the barn leaving it hooked up only to do the same to take it out at the end of the day. The only problem is it won't fricking stop raining and my tractor is in about 2' of mud right now. So I might have to work on it where it sits.

My brother-in-law and I got a lot done on Sunday. We managed to pull off the fenders, grill and hood. I took the exaust off, front bumper, the drive shafts and pulled the motor mount bolts. I hooked it up to my engine hoist and have it all but pulled. We were tired, dirty and bloody and decided to call it a day. It would have been much easier to strip it down had it not been all crashed up. I had to use a cuting wheel and make holes in the fenders just to get to the bolts. All in all it was a good day. We got the front clip off and the engine, trans and T case are all ready to come out. I'll throw up some pictures tomorrow.

PS. **** Torx!!! I toasted one of the torx bolts trying to get the windshield frame off. Its the only one keeping me from taking it off. I think I'll be drilling it out now.

OK..........I found my digital camera under the seat of my truck. Here are some better pictures. If anyone see something they want that is on its way out let me know.

I had to use my tractor to get it into my barn because the fact that the steering box was sheared off.

The drivers side had so much damage I had to cut a hole in the fender just to get to the bolts to take it off.

This was no easy task since it had such damage to the front end.

I'm going to have to buy another set of easy outs as I trashed my trying to get the fricking torx bolts out

With the help of my brother-in-law Chad we made short work of geting all of the damaged metal off it (front clip)

The hacked up exaust system was a real pain to get off. We had to take turns.

There is a lot more time that one would think to get all the stuff off the fenders and unpluged for the engine so you can yank it all out.

When you remove the stock skid plate the trans is attached to it. When you unbolt that the trans. and t case drop down. With the 2 engine mounting bolts taken out the picture in question is what you are left with. I unhooked all the linkage to the Tcase only I forgot to take the manual shifter off. We were tired, covered in grease and our knuckles were bloody. We decided to call it a day. To get the shifter off I have learned that it does not unbolt. You remove the dust shield and push down on the lever while turning it. I'll do that this weekend and pull the motor. I'll prob. wheel the jeep out and use the tractor as I'm about to run out of concrete in the barn. I'll turn the jeep around when I put the V8 in there so I have more room. I hadn't planed on geting as much off in the amount of time that we did so the engine pulling was kind of an after thought.

If you look hard enough at this picture you will see the rear output shaft on the TCase hanging down below the tube steps. That will give you a feel for the angle that the engine is siting in there since the motor mounts are not bolted up anymore and the skid plate is not holding the trans up anymore.

It went over the concrete median and into the trafic on the other side of the highway. He almost died. Because of the beefy front (ugly) bumper the airbags didn't deploy and the damage was much more minimal than it would have been had he not had the tube bumper. He had it towed home and never turned the title into his insurance. Thus.........Clean title.

I was under the impression that the airbags are deployed by a motion sensor in the airbag control module located in the jeep. Hence, the reason why all bumper manufacturers claim their bumper are air bag compatible.

I got my highline hood in today!!! I couldn't be happier than the way it looks. Can't wait to get some paint on it for when I start slaping stuff back together

I've decided to go full hydro on the steering. I'll be geting BTF truss system. I'm going to go with the same set up that Andy has on the front of his. It will look just like this.

Not sure what to tell ya. Here is a pic of the bumper after I took it off. The airbags are still there.

As much as Andy "MR CLIFFORD" on here will like to hear the kind words. That is not my jeep nor my work. But it is the look that mine will end up with. Minus the Trail Ready beadlocks. Those were not in my budget for this build
