TJ on 49's (Build Thread)

Well guys. I thought I would start all over again with a new Thread for my new project. Here are a few pictures of it as it sits now. Wrecked TJ with a 4 cyl manual. Ohhh how sweet it is going to look on 42's and 1 Tons. I'll post up more when I have time. But here is how it is going to start it's life with me.

Here is a link to the old thread when I was going to do the build on a CJ. There are lots of pics for my build on it too.

Ohhhh how she is going to shine

Buy a wrecked Chevy truck and make em reproduce and make a baby?

What do you plan on keeping from this salvage jeep? looks like the grill is still good? Plans for a hood?

Just wheeled it for the first time a few weekends ago. We are still wrapping up the small details like center console etc.

Its a long road, hope you have the patience to do it right. mine was down for 15 months.

I finished my build almost a year ago that is very similar to yours, minus the motor/tranny. I am in the process of collecting parts for my dana 300 and cable twin sticks. Good luck with it. Are you doing all of the work yourself?

Thanks on the good luck part! I will be doing it myself but with the help (hint, hint caugh!!! Andy) of people that have been down this road before. I have most of everything I need. My wife just had our 2nd child a mo. ago so that has slowed me down a lot. I'll transfer over the pics I had on a thread before this. I had a CJ I was going to build on but because of their frames I traded it off on this TJ. There are a few things I'm still up in the air on. Full hydro or hydro assist etc. I need to do a little more shaving on the 14 bolt odds and ends stuff. Change out the 30 spline outers to 35 spline so I can run the warn prem. hubs. Not sure which lockers I'm going to run. Might spool the rear. This is Andy's jeep. I'm using it to drool over while I work on mine. To try and get it to look like this.

I'm not sure I follow your post here? But if you are asking what the cost would be to drop a small block with a r4 behind it with the dana 300 and one tons on 42's. It all comes down to what kind of deals you can find. If you buy the best of the best and all new. You could drop over 50 grand without trying all that hard. On the cheap. Prob. around 10 grand to do it right.

There is a vendor on Pirate that sells a killer cable set up for around 200$ for the 300. I kicked that around as well but already had the twin sticks so I can't justify buying another set of controls just to get the cable part.
