tires rotated and now really bad wobble?
so I took my jeep to a local stealership to have the oil changed and tires rotated and now I have a wobble in my front end and it gets even worse when I go down a ruff road to the point I have to pull over and stop to get the front end to quit.
So what gives? How does rotating the tires cause a wobble?

In your case, if one of your rear wheels was out of balance, you may not have noticed it until it was rotated to the steering axle. Just my .02.

Make sure they tightened your lug nuts. I bought tires once and they only hand tighted them and that was a simular feeling.
If not the lug nuts then its prolly your tires working in the new rotation patern. Happen's if you wait to long to rotate. |

yeah i check the lugs tonight and swaped the front tires around because they didn't even rotate them right. They just went front to back on the same side. I was always taught that you go from corner to corner front and back.
Any way it got a little better but not much I am taking it back in a week from wed and telling them to check everything. The only reason I took in the first place because it only cost me $26.00 for an oil change and tire rotation so we will see what happens so in the mean time I will just have to drive my car |

So I went and picked up my jeep today I took it in yesterday. Any who the morons at the dealership told me that my tires are bald. I asked you sure you have the right jeep? there are still plenty of tread left on them. when I took it in I told them to re balance the tires well they didn't. So now I am going to take it to another place where I am not sure yet? to get another opinion on the whole tire thing and as well as the front end checked out. Needless to say i will never take it back to the local dealership for anything. They have wasted my time and made me a little pissed off!!!

Lots of guys just dont care!!!
Dealers get a bad rap, but keep in mind that it lies still in the know how. Find a local person that really knows the front end. Good luck!!

Mine did the same thing. Got 'em all rebalanced - one was way out. Told the tire guys they had to put weights on both sides of the wheels if necessary and get the balance as close as possible. Checked the toe in and caster (did it myself-toe in was off). Bam. Drives good. Way better.

Ive learned something when you balance your tires...
Dont use the wheel weights that clip onto the edges, get them to use the stick on ones, and have them stick them on the INSIDE of your wheels. This way they wont knock off ![]() Good luck with diagnosing your wobble Tam ![]()
