tire size help

Okay, i got a 97 tj. It has a 4 inch lift on 33's. My buddy has some 37's he wants to sell me cause he is looking to go up to 42's. If i got like a 2 inch body lift, could i run the tires? Or not have to regear long as i dont go any bigger? Its a 4 cylinder. So like, what you guys think? A 1-2 inch body lift and run them okay? Or what?

No. 37s are a COMPLETELY different ball game. You're talking new axles on both ends, brakes, regear, more than likely a stretch unless your terrain dictates otherwise (Florida) etc. I also highly recommend NOT going over a 1.25" body lift because it requires more modifications, becomes less safe, and looks terrible IMO. And your 4cyl will be an absolute dog if its your daily driver.

I think my four angry squirls would find a new Jeep if I put 37's under her

God lord I would think twice about 33's without a regear. And I'm pretty certain that the Dana 35 would self detonate as soon as you mounted them

If you have to ask if its ok to run 37s with a certain set up, then your not ready for 37s. Some one running those tires has to know what they are doing. No offense but you don't seem to know what your doing. Neither does your friend. Or maybe he does he just really doesn't consider you a friend.

Yea 33's are painful enough with 4.10 gears and they are definitely a pain when you put an axle from a zj under her with 3.73 gears

yes you will clear 37's with 4" suspension and 2" body, thats the lift im running with my 37's
and im also running 4.10's, same ratio as you
what rear axle are you running? that matters most, you will need a 44 if your tj does not have one.
you will also want something bigger than a 4banger to push the tires.

is this your trail beater or your daily driver?

And a front axle. Do you have a 4 cylinder? If not your advice on the gears is wrong.

huh?

4.10s is doable but far from ideal

4.10 came STOCK on the 4 cylinder. They would be down right terrible on 37s.
