Tinted Half Doors

I've gotten a couple quotes for getting tinted plastic windows for my half doors (sticker shock! ) ... Has anyone else had it done, and what's a fair price?

I looked into it a while back, and the only way to get it was to have them custom made by a local interior shop...I never found a company that made them.

I'm probably going to just go with the hard uppers and tint the glass with a film myself.

Where did you get quotes and what kind of prices were you given? I've been told canvas repair shops, such as boat shops, can sew in tinted plastic but the places I've checked referred me to auto upholstery shops.

Last summer was brutal, driving home from work w/115 degree temps, with the sun down just enough so it bakes the side of your face.

I know, i was just being a jerk.. im in the north, and ive got everything tinted, our summers get pretty hot and sticky too...

Consider getting a secdno self of uppers and havign a boat top place stich in some tinted plastic, or get some hard sliders and have them tinted.

alternatively an old trick we used to do was wrap the window with some screen (like, nylon screen from a house window). it would cut the sunlight entring in half.

in the Jeep I do what we call 100k air conditioning... put the top down and drive 100km/h

If they quoted you that much, you might be better off buying a set of uppers that is already tinted

100km/h ? I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with this metric system you speak of... Could you convert that into knots?
