Timing Belt or Chain on 97 TJ?

I was just wondering if anyone knew if I have a timing belt or chain on my 97 TJ Wrangler.

And you don't ever need to change a chain timing belt, right?

What motor?

Generally, you have to change a belt, but not a chain unless it is worn out.

it's a chain....2.5 or 4.0, both are chains

I'm sure it has a chain. I don't recall a Wrangler ever having an engine with a belt.
