Thoughts on a Electric Supercharger?

Anyone every use one of these on the 4.0L? The price is not bad, seems better than getting a 6000+ kit.

Heres the link:

Jeep electric supercharger-Turbo Kit for 6 cyl motors

Thanks!

nevermind

no really Prepare to get flamed in this thread. Do a quick web search and you will learn real quick, an elctric SC cannot work for an automotive application. That tiny motor cannot compress enough air.

Might as well try to fab up a supercharger from a leaf blower.

I saw one on youtube or one of those vid sites... lol

almost pee'd my pants, they really believed it was helping... must been the two stroke fumes that weren't getting out of the back seat.

if there is a manufacture that claims they have a track bar that will work, I'll never believe it unless one gets sent to me to install and inspect... I actually check this stuff with a centered axle at ride height and the springs out, not a fork lift flex test... of course it won't hit that way. I don't need one BTW, but I could sell a ton of em if there's one out there that works and is strong enough. I'm willing to do the work to get it right..... are you?

Actually it's a bilge vent fan for a boat. It will move air, not compress it. I thought I'd seen the last of these type threads when I stopped checking in to the BMW forced induction page.

well maybe it'll cool the intake air a bit... lol

that's as bad as the AIT mod using a resister to make the computer think the intake air is freezing.

Don't flame the guy. He had a question and now he's educated on it. That's what this forum's for.
Better he came here than buying the dam thing.

it produces roughly 250 CFM

well, given the fact that a 4.0L probably sucks 400-550 CFM, I would think that would be a bad thing.

The simple bottom line of an electric supercharger is that for one to actually work, it would require an electric motor big enough to suck more energy from the engine than it would produce.

They are snakeoil.
