is there such thing as rear disconnects?

i know there is a front swaybar disconnect, but was woundering if there was such a thing as a rea disconnect. Maybe to make the Jeep extra stable off-road.

yes there is a rear disconnect. i wouldnt recommend it though as body roll multiplies in big numbers once its disco'd.

you would not get very much useful articulation by dico'ing the rear anyway

There are a couple companies that offer a rear disco in their lift kits. The only one I can think of offhand is one of the 4WDHardware kits.

IMO, it is unnecessary and does more harm than good. The rear will flex very well connected and the swaybar does a lot for the stability of the Jeep, especially on off camber stuff. I have never disco'd the rear and have never seen any sort of a need to.

My rear anti sway bar came out with the Dana 35. It never went back in with the Dana 60.

I don't feel any difference in drivability. I also don't see a whole lot of difference in rear flex, maybe a few inches with the long arm kit. I always figure the speed limit on turns was written for me. I also don't drive my Jeep like a hot rod.

Where I do feel a difference is when I disconnect the front anti sway bar. The whole Jeep has more body roll then it did with a rear anti sway bar still connected.
