Is there an easier way...?

What is with the plastic pieces that are connected to the soft top that fit in the surrounds ?
(two pieces above the doors on drivers and passengers side)

Is there an easier way to get them out of the surrounds other than smashing your finger in there and prying them out ? geeze.......

I wonder why it is those 2 seperate pieces of plastic, and not just one long piece.

I find it makes it easier if you take the rear corners of the top off before going for those. I used to never take the rear corners off but recently got a new top (bestop). Their instructions for putting the top up/taking it down showed me the light. You can find those instructions on their website for replace-a-tops I think.

You can pull the little tab between them but it will eventually start to rip. I guess you could keep a screwdriver or something handy to use instead of fingers too

Apply candle wax to the plastic parts before you slide them back in. It will make it much easier to get them out the next time.

That piece bends in 1/2 when you fold down the top. If it was one piece it would be too hard.
