Teraflex 3T going in tomorrow

well you guys, wish me luck because the teraflex 3t is goin on tomorrow! I am also using the dt3000 shocks along with it. I have two 5 ton jack stands, a 2 ton floor jack that goes up to 23 1/2", a spring compressor(rented from autozone), and AIR TOOLS(thanks to my step dad). Since it is my birthday tomorrow also, my stepdad's present to me is helping me install the lift kit. I have also already installed the bar pins in the shocks. Is there anything else I will need to tomorrow to help with the lift kit?
Thanks in advance,
Patrick

Good luck. I have the same lift. Get ready for SYE or TC drop to eliminate vibes.

The good thing about the SYE, is that with that and a CV Drive Shaft, you can tummy tuck without vibes. But you will have to tilt your pinion angle, which may lead to shocks rubbing on the spring buckets, which leads to new shock relocation mounts. I just recieved my Nth degrees and will weld on this week.

Start putting penetrationg oil on everything you will unbolt this evening. It will make a big difference. PB Blaster, Kroil or whatever penetrant you can get. WD40 is not on my list. Beer!

Good luck
John

I just put in the 4T 4 weeks ago. You probably will have to do T-case drop. I tried mine without it at first too many vibes. I used the provided drop with my kit and the vibes are 100% gone. I will go sye and driveshaft after I convince my wife I need more money. The drop isn't the end of the world. I have wheeled with it now a couple times and I have had no ground clearance problems. Shoot all the bolts with PB Blaster! Don't forget it. Good luck!

I got a question for you guys since most of you seem to have tera lifts. Do the 3t or 4t come with any control arms? The ones I have seen didn't come with any control arms at all, so did you use the stock ones or am I missing something?

My Kit came with Lowers. Later I had to get Uppers for the rear to adjust the pinion angle.

the s3t and the s4t come with control arms. The 3t and the 4t do not. i got the 3t(w/o the control arms) because in the spring(when i have more money) i am going to get some rubicon express adjustable control arms.

I would have done the same had I known about the binding thing with Tera.

You don't need the uppers to adjust the pinion angle-you can do it with the adjustable lowers.

NO. The S3T or S4T are the kits that include the arms. I actually have the S3T not 3t with the new design arms.

Get a pair of mechanic's gloves. They'll be easier on your hands during your hard work on your Jeep. You can get them at Sears (and maybe at Home Depot).

I installed S4T lifts on my '04 Wranger, by myself (with little help from my friend). If you are having a difficult time to install new taller coil springs, even if they're compressed, you will probably need a cheap bottle jack and some small 2x4s. Put the bottle jack between the axle and frame...to push the axle down little farther (to give more room) so you can put the coil springs in there. Watch out your brake lines.

The installation took me about 2 days. IT was my first time. If I do it again next time, I'll probably be able to get it done within a day.

Good luck -madmax

I have used the bottle jack method in the past but what I did this time was just put a floor jack on the opposite side of the spring you are putting on and just compressed it all the way to the bumpstop. That will cause the axle to drop and allow you to slip your compressed spring right in. It is quicker and easier.

Regarding the arms I am still using stock. On Jeeps 99 and older have stock adjustable lowers. I some day will upgrade to a Long arm but that is too much money. Mine performs beautifully now. You got to build as your budget and need dictates what you do. I already run some pretty tough trails and have few problems.

Mine took 8 hours to put in. That included new track bar and T-case drop
