Taking doors off for the first time. Help

Well I bought my 04 TJ a month ago. Today I went to take the doors off for the first time. I removed the nuts on the bolts and tried to slide the drivers side off first it took some fighting with but it came off. Now for the life of me I can't get the passengers side off. I honestly don't think they have ever been take off before today. I have taken the doors off my buddies a few times and they come off with no effort. Any suggestions on how to get this damn thing off.

they may not have ever been off... I use a little white lythium grease on my hinge pins... but my doors are almost never on... as for the one that is being difficult.... lift up on the bottom of the door while opening and closing... back and forth... becarefull becuase it will break free and you do not what to wreck your paint or smack your nose!

just squirt wd-40 or whatever you have in the hinges. swing the door around on its hinge while pulling it upwards. when you put the back on clean everything and regrease

I have been spraying the crap out of it with WD-40 and no luck. It didn't look like was any kinda grease or anything in the hinges. I'm going to assume they have never been off.

Do a search on this board. This topic has been dealt with many, many, many times.

when you're lifting up make sure you're lifting close to the hinge side of the door

I tried to take my doors off today and while trying to take off the first nut I snapped the bolt. Does any one know where you can get another bolt from?

i just took my doors off for the first time. it felt like mine had never been off before. when taking off one of the nuts, the lower part of the bolt snapped off. my dad and i went at it for like 30 minutes with each door. the key it just keep the wd 40 going and make sure when you are pulling up to keep walking around. good luck

Thats was the best advice so far! Really do a search. If you can't figure out how to get the doors off maybe it's a sign you should leave them on. Funny how god takes care of little animals and stupid people that way..

The WD in WD-40 stands for Water displacing. You need a penetrating agent

i remove mine as often as i can
the more you do this the easier they are to remove
mine take minimal effort to get them off

quit posting if you dont like people asking questions
or lock the reply feature and make the board a directory instead of a forum
im sure everything has been covered on here now

but hes right wd40 sucks
get something better
start with pb blaster and if that doesnt work, work your way up the chain of penetrants
