i ended up just using a socket and it made them pretty ugly so i threw them away. then i just worked the doors back and forth while pulling up on them and had them off in a matter of minutes. once they were off i used a roto zip to remove the threaded studs from the doors. now the doors sit packed away with the top until it cools back off, proabably october or so

I felt inspried by this thread... I pulled my doors off for the first time yesterday. (BTW I've only had my TJ 3 weeks) It's great, even if it was 102 degree here today.

I have a yj and a TJ. Doors are off 90 percent of the time. I really don't notice the nuts missing paint when the doors are on. I figure its a jeep. missing paint and nicks are part of " Its a jeep thing"

take it off road and go under some low trees and than you wont have to worry about scratchs in the paint because the trees will brake it in for you

As I said on one of the previous "doors off" threads, this comment could be taken way out of context!
